Are we confusing you with our RAKs and our naked cards and our Gigawatsits? Never fear, all is revealed right here!
Ad Card – An ad card is one that was printed to promote a service, product, exhibition, political cause etc. They are available free to anyone who wants them.
Blank Cards – A card sent in New condition. Not one without a picture, but one that is not written on and is sent in an envelope. Some people prefer their cards blank or unwritten.
City view – A card showing an overall view of a city or town.
Multiview Card – A multiview card is made up of 2 or more smaller photographs.
Naked - A naked card is one sent in the traditional sense, written on, stamped and sent through the post without an envelope.
Postcrossing – A hobby that involves sending and receiving postcards that have been assigned an Official Postcrossing ID. You can learn more (and join for free) at Postcrossing.com
RAK – “Random Act of Kindness”. A card sent for no other reason than to make the person smile when it arrives. They are not for official swaps or postcrossings, just for fun and happies.
Single View Card – A postcard with a single photograph of a place/person/whatever.
Stash – Postcards bought for the purpose of sending out.
Swap Bot – A website that allows easy partner allocation and management for all kinds of swaps, not just postcards. Craft, letters, purchased items. You name it! You can find out more at Swap-Bot.com
Tourist Card – A postcard with a scene and usually the name of the place, or similar. Designed for people on holiday to send home.
Viewcard – A card showing a view of a place, usually scenic.
